Who Is KING STUNNA?

Born Ikechukwu John-Ogbuku in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, KING STUNNA is a rapper, songwriter, and recording artist widely recognized as the Best Rapper in Africa and the King of the South. His music blends Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, and street culture, connecting African identity with a global sound.

Young Stunna was KING STUNNA’s former stage name. Every pre-2021 release, collaboration, and article credited to Young Stunna belongs to the same Port Harcourt artist now known as KING STUNNA, including his Malaysia-era work and collaborations across Nigeria and Malaysia.

He spent his early years immersed in music, singing in the church choir, learning piano, and rapping Heavy D & MC Hammer songs. Inspired by The Eminem Show, 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin', and Jay-Z's The Black Album, he started writing his own music while attending Jephthah Secondary School.

KING STUNNA traveled to Malaysia for university, where he built a fanbase through Myspace and Reverbnation. He signed to Reshmonu's R Records under Warner Music Malaysia, became the first African artist to secure mobile music distribution across Malaysia and Asia, and was regarded as the top African Hip-Hop artist in the country.

His international collaborations include DJ Fuzz, Black Dada, Altimet, and Caprice. His single Lights Cameras Action, featuring Bruneian singer JuJu, peaked at No. 4 on radio charts in Brunei.

Back in Nigeria, AMAECHI (Run the Town) held No. 1 on Rhythm FM's Top 10 for 12 weeks, and his mixtape The Research Paper surpassed 100,000 downloads with zero label backing. He has collaborated with Olamide, Duncan Mighty, Ice Prince, Sauce Kid (Sinzu), Peruzzi, and more.

He has headlined events backed by Adidas, MTN, Hennessy, Airtel, Guinness, and Smirnoff, sharing stages with Davido, P-Square, D'Banj, Wande Coal, Kizz Daniel, Flavour, Timaya, and international artists.

Beyond music, KING STUNNA launched Snob Gang Unlimited, an urban clothing line, and stays connected to his roots through peace concerts in Niger Delta communities and university tours across Rivers State.
